Lullaby of Light by Jenni Armstrong
Take a breath, Breathe it in, Close your eyes tightly.
Grab a pen, Begin again, On a new page of life,
And.. Never give up, On this quest for truth. Never forget, all the wishes that came true. Cause you are the sun, that shines so bright, And I am the moon, that keeps you in it’s sights..
Take a bow, Let it out, Hold yourself proudly.
Grab a hand, Spin them in, To a brand new horizon.
And.. Never give up, On this quest for truth. Never forget, all the wishes that came true. Cause you are the sun, that shines so bright, And I am the moon, that keeps you in it’s sights..
You are so beautiful, You are my light, You guide so many through the night, So keep holding on, on, on, I promise you’ll win.
And.. Never give up, On this quest for truth. Never forget, all the wishes that came true. Cause you are the sun, that shines so bright, And I am the moon, that keeps you in it’s sights..
This is the slideshow I made for my best friends funeral, which is tomorrow. I won’t even get to be there.. She was such an amazing person, and she left a legacy of joy. It’s hard to believe that she is really gone, and that I won’t hear her laughter again until I get to Heaven. I know she is in a better place, and I am able to rest in that. Still my heart hurts, and tears seem to fall at random times. Thank you Father God though for holding my heart and catching my tears. Thank you for keeping Erika in Your arms.
So tonight we watched The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. After the movie, I laid there in bed pondering the movie I had seen so many times before, and I was given greater revelation on something that I had never noticed before coming to Bethel. So now I am up at 1am writing this post, because I know I had to put these words down. During the entire movie, after the kids had been placed on the boat, Reepicheep the mouse did something quite extraordinary. I know some of you might have already had this revelation but I just caught it… so wait a moment as I catch up to you… :) If you notice, Reepicheep takes a somewhat shine to Eustace… the bratty little cousin of the Pevensies. From the little sword fight to when Eustace turns to a dragon, Reepicheep continues to call out the gold in him. He tells him that only things like that can happen to extraordinary people, and that he has a great destiny. He keeps him going by telling him that he is strong and brave, and encourages him to be who he was truly called to be. Do you know what? That’s exactly what we are suppose to do! God hid treasures inside of us all, treasures that many of us have yet uncover. We are the ones who is suppose to call them out! You never know someones full destiny, you don’t know what they are suppose to do, or who they will become. They are God’s already, so they are destined for greatness! So treat them like they are great, no matter how they act. Because God see’s them as princes, princesses, warriors, kings, queens, and so much more. So be that Reepicheep, and call out that which is waiting to be found. :)
““Give me the love that leads the way, The faith that nothing can dismay, The hope no disappointments tire, The passion that will burn like fire, Let me not sink to be a clod: Make me Thy fuel, Flame of God.” -Amy Carmichael
Wow! This quote so does describe my heart. This is my full desire, all that I want to be. I want to be so captivated by God, so in love with Him. My heart is so willing to do all that He asks. I want nothing more, than by the end of this life to have done God’s will, and leave this world a 100x better than it was when I first arrived. Just let me burn for you, God. Let this world see nothing but Jesus when they see me. ”
Let’s Just Laugh At That!
To say that I don’t feel lonely at all.. that would be a lie. Many times I have found myself sitting alone here, in my house in Redding feeling that way. To blame my four wonderful room mates would not be fair. They each have their own lives, and things going on with them. Yet, that little thought doesn’t console my mind. So in the words of Steve Backlund, “Let’s laugh at that.” Here are a few lies that should be laughed at: 1. You are alone. That lie is ever so wrong, well of course it is. I have a Father in Heaven that loves me so much, and is always there to hold me in His arms. 2. You will never have friends. Even typing that makes me laugh, it reverts me back to a few years ago to a time when all my friends consisted of people way younger than me, and people way older than me. Now here in Redding, I find myself surrounded by people who are my age, and have at some point in time felt the way I’ve been feeling. 3. You are boring. I resent that statement completely. I find myself quite interesting. I mean, if God can delight in me, apparently I am not as boring as I sometimes feel. The funny thing about these lies is that if you begin to believe them, you will always feel alone. So laugh.. laugh like the wind at these lies that satan has tried to get you to believe. The truth is that you are irreplaceable, you are loved, and you do have friends. Just remember to not overlook those, that really are there. You are only as alone, as the amount you isolate yourself from others. Take a deep breath, and say these words aloud “The Father knows and loves me, and if He thinks I am amazing than I must be worth knowing.” This isn’t suppose to sound arrogant or anything, but it is the truth. I am a person worth knowing and so are you. God will surround you with the right people, so don’t go seeking after man’s approval. You have God’s stamp of approval on your forehead.. You are a prince or princess, remember that. You are deeply loved. You are treasured more than gold. You are more valuable than sparrows. You have no reason to be alone. So instead of waiting for someone to reach out to you, reach out to someone else. You might make their day, and in the process gain a new friend. I have realized that I was writing this, it was kind of my own type of therapy. Since I have arrived at BSSM, God has given me amazing new brothers and sisters. Sure, we aren’t like extremely close or anything, but closeness takes time. Just remember in order to get close to God, you must seek after Him, and dwell with Him. To get closer to new friends, you have to make time for them, talk to them, drink coffee with them. That is the only way to build a relationship with someone is to invest into it. If you don’t invest in it and only make idle conversation, you really won’t get much out of it. Your relationship with God is the foundation for your relationship with others. Thank you dear friends for reading my little rant, Blessings! :)
